Most traders slap a single indicator on their chart, take every signal, and wonder why their account bleeds.

1. Single indicators are noise filters, not signal generators.

An RSI overbought reading means nothing in a strong trend. A moving average cross is useless in a range. Every indicator has a context where it works — and one where it destroys you.

2. Confluence is everything.

3. Default settings exist for a reason.

Stop optimizing indicator parameters on historical data. You're curve-fitting. The best edge comes from understanding when to use each tool, not tweaking period lengths.

4. Your indicator should reduce decisions, not add them.

If you're staring at 8 conflicting signals, your setup is broken. A good system gives you a clear bias and a clear trigger — or tells you to sit on your hands.
