Why most golfers never fix their swing (and what actually works)
Most amateur golfers spend years grinding the same swing faults — and never fix them. Here's why:
They're fixing symptoms, not the cause.
A slice isn't a grip problem. A weak strike isn't a stance problem. These are downstream effects of a broken kinematic sequence. Fix the source, and the symptoms disappear.
The golfers I've seen make the biggest improvements share three things:
1. They trained their body, not just their mind.
Understanding the mechanics isn't enough. You need proprioceptive feedback — your body has to feel what a correct swing feels like before you can repeat it. That's what training aids are for.
2. They had a system, not just tips.
YouTube tips are contradictory because they're designed for clicks, not for your specific fault pattern. A system takes you from assessment → correction → groove → transfer to the course. In that order.
3. They measured contact quality, not just distance.
Golfers obsess over distance because it's exciting. But consistent ball striking — tight dispersion, controlled trajectory — is what actually drops your handicap. Distance is a byproduct of efficiency.
