šŸ‘‹ Welcome to GravelGrind Endurance — Start Here

Welcome to the crew. You just made the smartest investment in your gravel century performance.

How to Get the Most Out of This

1. Take the Course in Order

Gravel Century Mastery is designed to be completed sequentially. Each chapter builds on the last:

  • Chapter 1 — Foundations: understand why gravel centuries are metabolically different

  • Chapter 2 — Fueling Protocols: your 72-hour loading plan, hourly race-day targets, hydration & electrolytes

  • Chapter 3 — Tire Selection: durometer science, diameter choice, surface-matching matrix

  • Chapter 4 — Race Execution: your written plan, pacing strategy, and recovery protocol

2. Do the Action Items

Every lesson ends with a specific action item. These aren't optional — they're how you turn knowledge into race-day execution. The skaters who fill out the templates and calculate their personal numbers outperform those who just read.

3. Use the Community Chat

Drop your questions, race reports, wheel setups, and fueling logs in the chat. This is a small, focused group of serious gravel skaters — your questions will get answered.

4. Take the Quizzes

Chapters 2 and 3 end with knowledge checks. If you score below 4/5, re-read before moving on. These numbers will be in your head at mile 70 when you need them.

Your First Assignment

Head to Chapter 1, Lesson 3 and complete the Baseline Assessment. Know where you're starting so you can measure how far you've come.

šŸ›ž Stop Bonking at Mile 60 — The Science of Gravel Century Fueling & Tire Selection

Most inline skaters training for gravel centuries make two critical mistakes:

  1. They under-fuel by 40–60% because they're using road cycling nutrition advice that doesn't account for the constant muscular output of skating

  2. They run wheels that are 6–10 durometer points too hard for loose surfaces, hemorrhaging energy to vibration and lost traction

I've spent years coaching endurance skaters through gravel centuries — from 100-mile rail trail grinds to chunky backcountry courses — and these two factors cause more DNFs than fitness ever does.

What You'll Learn Inside

Gravel Century Mastery is a complete course covering:

šŸ“Š Fueling Protocols — 72-hour glycogen loading, hourly calorie targets (it's 250–300 cal/hr, not the 150 you've been doing), dual-source carb absorption, electrolyte strategy calibrated for skating's unique sweat demands

šŸ›ž Tire Selection Science — Durometer ratings decoded, wheel diameter vs. rollover physics, a surface-specific decision matrix for five gravel types, rotation strategy to prevent mid-race failure

šŸ Race Execution — The four-quarter pacing model, a race-day plan template that fits on a wrist card, and a 72-hour recovery protocol

This isn't generic endurance advice adapted from cycling. Every protocol is built for inline skating on unpaved surfaces.

If you've ever bonked, cramped, or DNF'd a gravel event — the answer is in this course.
