5 vegetables that actually grow on a tiny balcony (no garden needed)

Most gardening advice assumes you have a yard. You don't need one.

I've been growing food on a 4x6 ft balcony for 2 years. Here's what actually works in small spaces:

1. Green onions — Buy them once from the grocery store. Cut the tops, stick the roots in soil. They regrow forever. Literally free food after day one.

2. Cherry tomatoes — One pot, one plant, 50+ tomatoes per season. Use a 5-gallon bucket with drainage holes. Total cost: ~$3.

3. Lettuce — Grows in shallow containers. You can harvest outer leaves and it keeps producing for months. No need to buy salad greens again.

4. Herbs (basil, mint, cilantro) — A $2 packet of seeds gives you months of fresh herbs. One store-bought basil bunch costs $3. The math is obvious.

5. Radishes — Ready to eat in 25 days. Fastest win you'll ever get in gardening. Great for building confidence.

The key insight most people miss: you don't need a lot of space, you need the right plants for your space.

I wrote a full eBook covering everything — soil, containers, watering schedules, what to grow each season, and how to actually save money doing it. No fluff, just practical steps for beginners.
