The 3 mistakes every gym beginner makes (and how to fix them)

Most beginners walk into the gym, grab the heaviest dumbbells they can find, and wonder why they're sore for a week with nothing to show for it.

Here's what's actually going wrong:

1. Skipping the warm-up

Your muscles are cold. Your joints are stiff. You go straight to bench press and wonder why your shoulder hurts. A proper 5-minute warm-up isn't optional — it's the reason some people stay injury-free for years while others are constantly sidelined.

2. No plan, just vibes

Walking in and doing whatever machine looks empty is not a program. You need a structured plan that tells you exactly what to do, how many sets, how many reps, and when to add weight. Without progressive overload, you're just exercising — not building.

3. Overcomplicating nutrition

You don't need 6 meals a day. You don't need a $200 supplement stack. You need enough protein (~0.8g per lb of bodyweight), enough calories, and consistency. That's it.

I built IronVault to give beginners everything they need in one place — a 30-day gym program and the warm-up routine I wish I had when I started. No fluff, no bro-science.

If you're just getting started, this is for you.
