Why most Gyros in Germany miss the point (and what we do differently)

Most Gyros in Germany is made to be fast and cheap. That's the business model.

Thin pita, pre-marinated frozen meat, ketchup-based tzatziki, done in 60 seconds.

We've been running Gyrosman for years and from day one we refused to do it that way.

Here's what actually matters in a proper Gyros:

The meat

It needs 24 hours in a real marinade — olive oil, lemon, oregano, thyme, garlic. No shortcuts. The vertical spit needs to rotate for hours, not minutes, so the outside caramelizes while the inside stays juicy.

The tzatziki

Real Greek yogurt, strained overnight. Fresh cucumber, pressed dry. Garlic, dill, olive oil. That's it. If there's mayo in it, it's not tzatziki.

The pita

Handmade, thick enough to hold everything, toasted on the grill. Not a flatbread from a bag.
