Most holiday tables fail for the same reason: people buy a bunch of "seasonal" stuff and dump it in the middle.

Here's the order I use, every time.

Pick one color family. Not three. Terracotta + cream, or forest + gold. If a piece doesn't belong, it stays in the box.

Height in the center, low everywhere else. A centerpiece should block conversation if it's too tall. Keep it under the line of sight when you're sitting. Dried wheat, eucalyptus, a few candles. That's it.

Repeat one object down the table. Same napkin fold. Same small bowl. Same candle. Repetition is what makes it look designed instead of assembled.

Leave gaps. Empty linen is a feature. If every inch is covered, it reads as a craft fair, not a dinner.

You can do this in 20 minutes if you stop shopping and start editing.
