Whop offers different fee structures based on whether it acts as the Merchant of Record (MoR) for your business or if you use your own payment processor.
By default, upon signing up for Whop, you'll use Whop Payments, with Whop as the MoR, handling disputes, taxes, and refunds. This setup reduces your administrative load, allowing focus on product development. Whop, as MoR, is US-based, with domestic customers incurring domestic card processing fees, and international customers incurring international fee.
With Whop Payments, you'll face payment processing fees plus a 3% platform usage fee. This 3% represents our platform fee. Initial payment processor fees are absorbed by us and then passed on to you.
Let's delve into our payment processing breakdown:
If you integrate with your own payment processor like Stripe Standard, Whop applies a simple 3% flat charge. With this option, you assume responsibility for all the aforementioned fees; we don't levy any additional charges. You're directly responsible for settling fees with the processor. This same arrangement applies to Coinbase Commerce and PayPal integrations.
Type | Fee |
Whop Payments | 3% + payment processing fees |
Stripe Integration | 3% (you pay processing fees directly to Stripe) |
Coinbase Commerce | 3% (you pay processing fees directly to Coinbase) |
PayPal | 3% (you pay processing fees directly PayPal) |
Whop Marketplace Sales | 30% |
