Why most "binaural beats" on YouTube don't actually work
I've spent 23 years studying bio-acoustics and frequency therapy. Here's something most people don't realize:
The binaural beats you find on YouTube and Spotify are almost always compressed. MP3 and AAC codecs strip out the exact frequency precision that makes binaural entrainment work. You're basically listening to a vibe, not a protocol.
For a binaural beat to actually entrain your brainwaves, you need:
Lossless audio (WAV or FLAC) — compressed formats destroy the sub-Hz precision
Stereo headphones — speakers blend the channels and kill the effect
Accurate carrier frequencies — most apps just pick a random tone. The carrier matters as much as the beat frequency
0.01 Hz precision — the difference between 7.83 Hz (Schumann resonance) and 8.00 Hz is the difference between deep calm and nothing happening
This is exactly why I built Hertzbox Pro. Every protocol uses uncompressed WAV files with sample-accurate sine waves. No guesswork, no aesthetic filler.
If you've tried binaural beats before and thought "this doesn't do anything" — you were probably right. The audio was wrong, not the science.
The science is solid. The delivery just has to be precise.
