Why 90% of cold outreach gets ignored (and the 3-line fix)
Most people write outreach like this:
"Hi, I run a [service] agency and I'd love to help you with [thing]. Can we hop on a call?"
That message tells the prospect nothing except that you want something from them. No wonder the reply rate is under 2%.
Here's what actually works — a 3-line framework I've used across dozens of niches:
Line 1: Observation. Show you actually looked at their business. Not a compliment — an insight. Something specific enough that they know this isn't a mass blast.
Line 2: Gap. Point out something they're leaving on the table. Not "you need help" — more like "I noticed you're doing X but not Y, which usually means Z is costing you."
Line 3: Low-friction next step. Don't ask for a call. Ask a question. Make it easy to reply.
That's it. Three lines. No pitch deck. No "quick call."
The difference between getting ghosted and getting clients isn't your offer — it's your first message.
