5 FBA Prep Mistakes That Are Costing You Money
After prepping thousands of units for Amazon sellers, we've seen the same costly mistakes over and over. Here's what to avoid:
1. Wrong FNSKU placement — Amazon scanners need barcodes in specific spots depending on packaging. Misplaced labels = delays at the fulfilment centre and potential fee charges.
2. Skipping suffocation warnings — Poly bags over a certain size legally require suffocation warnings. Miss this and your shipment gets flagged, costing you time and money.
3. Inconsistent bundling — If you're selling multipacks, every bundle needs to look identical. Loose shrink wrap or mismatched items = customer complaints and A-to-Z claims.
4. Not inspecting before shipping — Damaged products get checked in at Amazon and you eat the cost. A 30-second quality check saves hundreds in removals and refunds.
5. Overpacking boxes — Heavier boxes cost more to ship AND are more likely to get damaged in transit. Keep boxes under 50 lbs and pack them tight.
We handle all of this at HIVE so you don't have to worry about it. If you're an Amazon seller looking for a UK-based prep partner, join us — it's free to get started.
