The number one way beginners kill a plant is watering it because they feel guilty.

The soil looks dry on top. You add more. The roots sit wet. A week later the leaves yellow, so you water again. That's not a plant problem. That's a schedule problem.

A better rule:

• Pick the pot up. Light = water. Heavy = wait.

• Water until it runs out the bottom. Then stop.

• Don't water again until the pot is light.

That's it. Not a calendar. Not a moisture meter you ignore. Weight.
