Why You Keep Gaining the Weight Back (It's Not Willpower)
Here's something nobody talks about: the reason most people regain weight isn't because they're lazy. It's because the approach was never sustainable in the first place.
Think about it. You go on a 1200-calorie diet. You lose 15 lbs in 6 weeks. You feel amazing. Then life happens — a birthday, a vacation, a stressful week at work — and it all comes back. Plus 5 more.
The problem isn't you. The problem is the strategy.
After years of watching people (and myself) yo-yo, here's what I've found actually works for people 30+:
1. Stop cutting calories so aggressively. A 200-300 calorie deficit is enough. Your body won't go into survival mode, and you can actually maintain it for months.
2. Walk more, stress less about the gym. 8,000-10,000 steps per day does more for weight loss than 3 brutal gym sessions. Movement > punishment.
3. Fix your sleep before you fix your diet. Poor sleep spikes cortisol and ghrelin (your hunger hormone). You're literally fighting your biology if you're sleep-deprived.
4. Eat real food, not "diet" food. If your meals taste like cardboard, you won't stick with them. Cook simple meals with ingredients you actually like.
5. Give it 6 months, not 6 weeks. Real, lasting change is slow. If someone promises you 30 lbs in 30 days, run.
This is what I teach inside my membership — practical, sustainable strategies for people who've tried everything and are ready for something that actually sticks.
