First time whistling vessel maker :) It works!
See how they work inside! Here are a few xray images of whistling vessels, in case you're curious about their internal structure. These were found on: https://julietwiersema.com/acoustic-analysis/
I will be posting a new course soon-ish for double chambered whistling vessels with resonating chambers to produce dual tones. Stay tuned and please rate the course and share your finished pieces, if you have a chance.
One of the most exciting parts of teaching ceramics is seeing what happens when someone takes the techniques I've taught and makes them their own.
This is a space to celebrate the vessels made by the Huaco Arte community.
If you've taken the course and made your own whistling vessel, I'd love to see it!
📸 Share a photo of your finished piece here, and tell us a little about your experience.
What was easy?
What was challenging?
Did your vessel whistle? 🎶
And most importantly — what did you learn?
Every piece will be different, and that's exactly what makes handmade ceramics so special.
I'll be adding student creations here as they come in. 🌎

Hi everyone! I'm Sandra, a Peruvian-Dutch ceramist based in Ecuador and the maker behind Huaco Arte.
I created this course because I wanted to share the magic of ceramic whistling vessels, which combine all 4 elements: air, water, earth and fire.
These vessels aren't simply beautiful ceramic objects — they can actually produce sound when water or air moves through them. Learning how to make one brings together hand-building, patience and curiosity and connects you with something otherworldly.
I wanted to create a course that would make this process accessible to anyone who wants to work with clay — all levels.
I hope Huaco Arte inspires you to slow down, get your hands dirty, and make something truly unusual with your own hands.
Welcome! ❤️
