I analyzed 500+ niches last month. Here are the 3 patterns that predict a winner.
Most people pick niches based on vibes. "I think this could work." Then they spend 3 months creating content nobody wants.
I've been scanning Google, Amazon, and online communities for niches with actual buyer demand and almost zero competition. After analyzing 500+ markets last month, three patterns kept showing up in the winners:
1. The "forum frustration" signal
When people are complaining in Reddit threads, Facebook groups, or niche forums about not being able to find good [product/content/service] — that's a demand signal you can't fake. The key is when the complaints are specific. "I wish someone would make X that does Y" = money on the table.
2. Amazon review gaps
Find a product category with tons of 3-star reviews. That means people are buying, but nobody's nailing it. The reviews tell you exactly what's missing. Build content or products around those gaps and you've got instant positioning.
3. Google autocomplete depth
If Google is suggesting 4+ layers of long-tail keywords for a topic (like "best X for Y for beginners under $50"), that means there's search volume AND specificity — but the existing content is probably generic listicles. That's your opening.
The difference between people who make money online and those who don't isn't talent. It's picking the right market before they start building.
That's what we do at Hungry Market Scanner — we find these opportunities systematically so you don't have to guess.
