The second mug stayed in the cupboard

I woke up before the alarm. Not because anything was wrong. Because my body still thought someone might need something.

The hallway was only a hallway. The lock was already turned. I stood in the kitchen and reached for two mugs. Habit. I put one back. That was the whole scene. No speech. No one to tell.

I drank the coffee standing up. Sitting still felt like a claim I had not practiced. The chair by the window had a shawl on it from the night before. An empty chair looks like an argument. A shawl looks like I live here.

People keep asking if I am okay now. They mean: are you inspiring yet. Are you dating. Are you over it. I am okay the way a room is okay after you have moved the furniture and have not sat down.

The papers are in a folder. The keys hang on a hook that is actually mine. The dress I reached for this morning is the one nobody is coming to see. That is not a small thing. That is a life starting without an audience.

If you are in that kitchen — two calendars, one morning, a body that still listens for a door — you are not behind. You already left. You are still arriving.

I made lined pages for that part. Rewrite Yours. Private write-in pages. Not therapy. Not a divorce manual. Print it. Keep it where no one else reads.

The window is not a yard

The cat has been sitting in the same square of sun for twenty minutes. The glass is warm. The yard is right there. You have opened three catio tabs this week and closed them all, because the next honest step is a hardware-store aisle and a guess.

That is where most of these projects stall. Lumber, layout, and cost get decided in the cart instead of on paper. Then Saturday becomes a pile of wood that does not fit the door, or a frame with no plan for the latch.

This workbook is the planning layer. Seven days. One focused step each day — layouts for different yards, a material list with estimated costs, a safety checklist, and a timeline you can finish before you pick up a saw.

It is not the full construction manual. It is the pages you fill in first so your indoor cat gets a secure outdoor enclosure, not an abandoned weekend project.

Write on them before you buy materials.

7-Day Catio Plan: Interactive Workbook. $14.99, paid once.
