Why Most Agency Cold Emails Get Ignored (And the 3-Line Fix)
I've written cold emails for dozens of agencies. The pattern I see killing reply rates is always the same.
Most agencies write emails that sound like this:
"Hi [Name], I'm reaching out because we help companies like yours with [generic service]. Would you be open to a quick call?"
That email gets deleted in 0.3 seconds. Here's why: it's about YOU, not them.
The 3-line framework that actually works:
Line 1: Observation. Show you did 30 seconds of research.
"Noticed you just launched [specific thing] — congrats on the momentum."
Line 2: Relevance. Connect their situation to a result you've driven.
"We helped [similar company] add 40+ booked calls/month after a similar launch using targeted outreach."
Line 3: Low-friction ask. Don't ask for a call. Ask for permission.
"Worth sharing how we did it, or is outreach already handled?"
That's it. Three lines. No fluff. The key is specificity — generic emails get generic results (the trash folder).
If your agency is spending hours crafting email campaigns for clients and the replies still aren't there, the copy structure is almost always the bottleneck — not the list, not the volume.
We build done-for-you cold email systems for agencies. If that's interesting, check out what we offer.
