Whats holding you back most in your surfing.
Started surfing late — 16 years old, everyone around me already years ahead. Four years later I was towing into a 6.5m swell in Dunedin. That gap didn't close because I found some secret trick. It closed because I stopped treating "getting better at surfing" as one big blurry goal and started breaking it into the three things that actually gate your progress:
1. Positioning & wave choice. If you're sitting in the wrong spot or catching the wrong waves, nothing else matters. Most intermediates aren't bad surfers — they're bad at picking their moment.
2. The hold-down mindset. The moment you can catch bigger, better waves, fear shows up. If you tense up and panic under the water, your body burns oxygen twice as fast. Big wave surfing is 80% breath and nervous system control, 20% paddling.
3. Flow & connected maneuvers. Once you can catch the wave and you're not scared of what's under it, the last wall is turning isolated moves into one continuous line. That's the difference between "I surfed it" and "I rode it."
I coach intermediate surfers through exactly this — 8 years in the water, surf coaching + lifesaving background, chasing big wave surfing as a career, not a hobby. If you're stuck at that "I can surf but I'm not progressing" stage, drop a comment with which of the three above is your biggest blocker. I read every one.
"How I Conditioned My State This Morning"
Started the day with intention.
First thing I did was read through the Confidence Masterclass. Not just skimming — actually absorbing it, letting it shift how I see myself and what I'm capable of.
Then I used the Self Trust Tracker to check in with myself. Where am I following through? Where am I not? It's a simple tool but it forces honesty — and that honesty is what builds real confidence over time.
The morning sets the tone for everything. If you condition your state before the world gets a chance to condition it for you, you move differently for the rest of the day.

I kept meeting talented people who were stuck.
Not because they weren't skilled. Not because they weren't working hard.
Because they were surrounded by the wrong people.
The right connection changes everything. One introduction can be worth more than a year of grinding alone.
That's why I built Insync — a curated community for driven professionals who want access to the right people, resources, and opportunities.
We're opening founding member spots now at a locked-in rate before the price increases.
If you're serious about who you become in the next 3 years, drop a comment or DM me "INSYNC" and I'll send you the details.

Most people don't lack talent — they lack clarity.
You might have the skills, the drive, and the ambition. But if you haven't locked in on a specific goal, you're just running in circles.
So let's fix that right now.

The people who win aren't the ones who figure it all out alone. They're the ones who get connected to the right opportunities at the right time.
