Why Uncle Iroh is the most powerful character in Avatar (and it's not even close)
Everyone debates Aang vs Ozai, Toph vs everyone, Katara's bloodbending arc — but the real answer has been sitting in a tea shop in Ba Sing Se the whole time.
Iroh is the only character who mastered ALL four elements conceptually.
Think about it:
He studied waterbenders to create lightning redirection
He understood earthbender philosophy — patience, neutral jing, waiting for the right moment
He was already a firebending master and one of the few who understood its true source (not anger, but life)
He valued airbender spirituality — detachment, inner peace, the spirit world
Ozai had raw power. Aang had the Avatar State. But Iroh had wisdom — and in the Avatar universe, wisdom always wins.
The man literally broke himself out of the most secure prison in the Fire Nation by doing sit-ups. While everyone else was playing chess, Iroh was playing 4D pai sho.
What's your most underrated Iroh moment? I'll go first: when he told Zuko "It's time for you to look inward and start asking yourself the big question: who are you and what do YOU want?"
That line hit different at 25 than it did at 12.
