Why skinny guys fail at gaining muscle (and the 3 things that actually fix it)

I spent 3 years eating "a lot" and lifting 6 days a week. Barely gained 5 lbs.

The problem wasn't effort — it was information. Every YouTube bro was telling me to "just eat more" and "train harder." But nobody broke down WHY hardgainers are different.

Here's what I figured out the hard way:

1. You're not eating as much as you think.

Track for one honest week. Most skinny guys who think they eat 3,000 calories are actually eating 1,800-2,200. Your appetite lies to you.

2. You're doing too much volume, not enough intensity.

Hardgainers recover slower. That 6-day PPL split is frying your CNS. You'd grow faster on 4 hard sessions with proper progressive overload than 6 garbage ones.

3. You're ignoring the boring fundamentals.

Sleep, water, creatine, and compound lifts. That's 90% of the equation. The other 10% is time.

I built Iron Protocol around these principles. Structured programs, real nutrition targets, and a community of guys in the same boat. No fluff, no bro-science.

If you're tired of being the skinny guy — you know where to find us.
