5 Simple Experiments You Can Do With Your Kids Tonight
Most parents think you need a lab to teach kids science. You don't. You need a kitchen.
Here are 5 experiments that take under 10 minutes and use stuff you already have:
1. Baking Soda Volcano — Mix baking soda + vinegar in a cup. Add food coloring for drama. Teaches: chemical reactions.
2. Density Tower — Layer honey, dish soap, water, and oil in a glass. Kids will lose their minds watching things float. Teaches: density and liquids.
3. Invisible Ink — Write with lemon juice on white paper. Hold it near a lamp to reveal the message. Teaches: oxidation.
4. Static Electricity Butterfly — Cut a tissue paper butterfly, rub a balloon on your hair, and watch it "fly." Teaches: electric charge.
5. Egg Drop Challenge — Give kids tape, straws, and paper. Challenge them to protect a raw egg from a 6-foot drop. Teaches: engineering and problem-solving.
The trick isn't making kids "study" science — it's making them realize they've been doing science all along.
