Why most creators waste their long-form content (and how clipping fixes it)

Ran the numbers on a handful of podcast clients this month: the average episode gets watched by maybe 5-10% of a creator's following. The other 90%+ never sees it — not because the content isn't good, but because long-form just doesn't travel on TikTok, Reels, or Shorts.

The fix isn't "post more." It's re-packaging what you already recorded into the format the algorithm actually rewards: 30-90 second vertical cuts with a hook in the first 2 seconds.

A few things we've learned running clipping ops for podcasters and streamers:

  • Hook density matters more than production value. A raw phone clip with a strong opening line beats a polished edit with a slow build.

  • Volume beats perfection. 20-30 clips/month outperforms 3 "perfect" ones — the algorithm needs data points to find your audience.

  • Captions are non-negotiable. Most viewers watch muted for the first few seconds.

If you're sitting on hours of unused footage — podcast eps, stream VODs, raw calls — that's inventory, not waste. Happy to break down how we'd approach clipping it if you drop a link below. 🎬
