6 Ark Survival Ascended Mistakes That Keep You a Beach Bob Forever
Every new Ark player makes these mistakes. Most veterans still make #4 and #6. Stop doing these and you'll progress 10x faster.
1. Building in Thatch or Wood Past Hour One
Thatch and wood get destroyed by any dino that sneezes in your direction. Rush stone walls. On PvP, rush metal. There is no "I'll upgrade later" ā you'll get raided first.
2. Taming Low-Level Dinos
A level 15 Rex is not a flex. It's wasted time. ONLY tame 130+ on official (max 150). The stat difference between a level 20 and a level 150 tame is massive ā we're talking 10,000+ HP difference after taming.
3. Ignoring Narcotics Production
Narcotics are the backbone of taming. You need hundreds for big tames. Set up a Mortar & Pestle assembly line by day 2. Farm Narcoberries with a Trike. Stockpile spoiled meat. Never run out.
4. Not Building Taming Traps
Chasing a Rex around the map shooting tranq arrows is a clown show. Build a stone doorframe trap. 4 doorframes, a ramp, done. Lead dino in, shoot from safety. Works for 80% of tames.
5. Skipping the Argentavis
The Argy is the most important tame in the game. It flies, carries tons of weight, picks up other dinos, and has a built-in smithy. If you don't have one, you're playing the game on hard mode for no reason.
6. Bringing Unprepared Dinos to Boss Fights
Boss fights eat bad dinos alive. If your Rexes have less than 25k HP and 500% melee, they're dying to the Dragon. Breed, imprint, mutate. Do the work before you walk into the arena.
