5 landing page mistakes that are costing your clients conversions
I've built hundreds of landing pages for clients over the years, and I keep seeing the same conversion killers over and over. Here are the top 5:
1. The hero section has no clear CTA. If someone lands on the page and doesn't know what to do in 3 seconds, you've lost them. One headline, one button, one action.
2. Too many font sizes. Stick to 3 max. A display font, body, and small text. When everything is "big and bold," nothing stands out.
3. Social proof is buried below the fold. Testimonials, logos, case studies — put them high. People need trust before they scroll.
4. The mobile version is an afterthought. Over 60% of traffic is mobile. If your template doesn't look clean on a phone, the desktop version doesn't matter.
5. No visual hierarchy in the pricing section. If you have multiple tiers, one should clearly be "recommended." Use contrast, size, and color to guide the eye.
I built LaunchKit specifically to eliminate these mistakes from the jump. Every template is conversion-tested, mobile-first, and designed for agencies and freelancers who bill by the project — not the hour.
If you're spending 4+ hours laying out landing pages from scratch for every client, you're leaving money on the table.
