Welcome to Leading Dance! 💃

Hey, welcome to the family! So glad you're here.

Here's how to get started:

  1. Jump into the Beginner Dance Course — it's designed to take you from zero to confident on the dance floor, step by step

  2. Say hi in Dance Community — introduce yourself, share your goals, and connect with other beginners on the same journey

  3. Check Updates & Tips regularly — I post new dance tips, practice routines, and behind-the-scenes content here

No experience needed. No judgment. Just you, the music, and the willingness to move.

Let's dance. 🎶

5 things I wish someone told me when I started dancing

I've been teaching dance for years, and these are the truths nobody tells beginners:

1. You don't need rhythm to start. Rhythm is a skill, not a talent. I've seen hundreds of "I have two left feet" people transform in weeks. It's just pattern recognition — your body learns it.

2. Mirrors are your best friend and worst enemy. Use them to check form, not to judge yourself. The second you start comparing yourself to the person next to you, you stop learning.

3. Slow practice beats fast practice every time. The people who progress fastest are the ones willing to go painfully slow until the movement is clean. Speed comes free after that.

4. Your body already knows how to dance. You've been moving to music your entire life — in the car, in the shower, walking down the street. A dance class just gives that instinct structure.

5. The hardest step is showing up. Not the choreography, not the footwork. Just walking through the door. Everything after that is momentum.

I built Leading Dance specifically for people who want to start but feel intimidated. It's a step-by-step beginner course you can do at your own pace, with a community of people going through the same thing.

If any of this resonated, come dance with us.
