5 reasons your restaurant's website is costing you customers
I've audited dozens of restaurant websites over the past year. Here's what I keep seeing:
1. No mobile optimization. 70%+ of restaurant searches happen on phones. If your menu takes 8 seconds to load on mobile, people just go to the next place on Google.
2. No Google Business Profile link. Your website and your Google listing should reinforce each other. Most restaurants treat them as separate things — that's leaving reviews and foot traffic on the table.
3. Stock photos instead of real food. A $50 phone photoshoot of your actual dishes will outperform any stock image library. People eat with their eyes first.
4. No clear call-to-action. "Order Now", "Reserve a Table", "View Menu" — pick one and make it impossible to miss. Most restaurant sites bury the thing customers came there to do.
5. Running ads to a bad landing page. If you're spending money on Google or Instagram ads but sending people to a homepage with no clear next step, you're burning cash.
Fix even two of these and you'll see more walk-ins within a month. I build websites and run ads specifically for restaurants and hospitality — if you want help, check out the Growth Retainer.
