If you can't read a balance sheet, you are not investing. You are guessing.
Most people who "get into stocks" from TikTok never open a financial statement.
They buy a ticker because a stranger said it would run. When it dumps, they have no idea whether the business got worse or whether they overpaid for a fine business. So they freeze, then they copy the next signal.
A balance sheet is not advanced. It is three numbers on one page:
Assets — what the company owns
Liabilities — what it owes
Equity — what is left for owners
Assets = Liabilities + Equity. Always.
If you can subtract, you can read it. Then you compare equity to the market cap and ask a simple question: am I paying less than, about, or more than the books say this company is worth?
That one question kills most of the garbage trades beginners take.
I built Linklen for people who are done copying. First chapter is how to value a company from the balance sheet. If you want the lessons and the chat where we actually check your numbers, it's here.
