The #1 mistake killing local SMMA outreach (and it's not your pitch)
Most people trying to land local business clients (gyms, restaurants, salons) obsess over their pitch deck or offer wording. That's not why you're getting ignored.
The real problem: you're pitching before you've shown any value.
Local business owners get cold-pitched constantly. The ones who actually book calls do ONE thing differently — they lead with a specific, free observation before ever mentioning price.
Example that works way better than "I help businesses grow with social media":
"Hey [Name], noticed your Instagram hasn't posted in 3 weeks — here's a quick content idea that could bring in walk-ins this week. Want me to send it over?"
That's it. No pitch. No price. Just value first.
Do this consistently across 15-20 local businesses in one niche and you'll get more replies than any "perfect" cold DM template. The niche focus matters too — pick ONE (gyms, restaurants, salons, etc.) instead of pitching everyone.
