Spreadsheet dispatch doesn't fail at 2pm. It fails at 6:12am.
A regional fleet with 40 trucks does not lose money because the TMS is "missing a feature."
It loses money because the dispatcher opened Excel at 6:12am, the night driver's HOS rolled over, and the WhatsApp group already has 80 unread messages about a pickup that was supposed to happen in Toledo.
By 7:00 the broker is calling. Nobody can say where truck 47 is without calling the driver. The driver is in a truck stop bathroom. The load is now late, the detention clock started, and the spreadsheet has three versions because two people edited it from the yard.
That is not an operations problem. That is a system that cannot tell the truth in real time.
If you run 15–75 trucks in the US and your board still lives in a sheet plus a group chat, the work is not "find a better spreadsheet." The work is one board, live location, and documents that travel with the load.
Everything else is theater.
