VA RECOMMENDATIONS 👀

Before I head over to Upwork, does anybody have a RELIABLE international VA they have PERSONALLY worked with and would actually recommend? I’m specifically looking for someone strong with lead generation, prospect research, contact/company research, data entry/organization, outreach support, and other repetitive business tasks that still need an actual human behind them. I already use AI heavily, so I’m not looking for somebody to do things AI can already handle for me. I need somebody who can research, verify information, follow instructions, work independently, and actually take work OFF my plate not make more work for me to have to go behind them and do. International recommendations are preferred. Please only recommend someone you’ve personally worked with, and if you can, tell me what they handled for you + their rate and contact info.

I’m checking referrals first before I go hunting on Upwork. 🖤

PORTLAND BUSINESS OWNERS! CHECK THIS BEFORE YOU SIGN A COMMERCIAL LEASE. 👀💰

I’ve been digging through Portland’s current small business funding programs, and there is money available for qualifying businesses moving into or improving commercial space.

These are listed by Prosper Portland as of 10 minutes ago September 25, 2026.

🏢 Affordable Commercial Tenanting Grant | Up to $300,000

For qualifying commercial projects in Portland’s Interstate Corridor and Gateway TIF Districts.

Funding can help cover eligible costs like tenant improvements, signage, lighting, security improvements, architecture, engineering, permitting and other build out expenses.

Affordable Commercial Tenanting Grant — Official Program Application.

🔨 Prosperity Investment Program | Up to $75,000

This program can reimburse up to 75% of eligible project costs, with grants up to $75K.

Eligible expenses can include tenant improvements, storefront improvements, signage, lighting, mechanical systems, permanent fixtures, architecture and engineering.

Your property must be in an eligible Portland TIF district, and business applicants generally need at least three years remaining on the lease.

Prosperity Investment Program — Official Program Application.

🚚 Lloyd-Holladay Relocation Grant | Up to $25,000

For qualifying businesses and nonprofits moving into eligible ground-floor commercial space in the Lloyd-Holladay TIF District.

Funding can help with moving expenses, signage, painting, lighting, tenant improvements, security, design, architecture, engineering and permitting.

Prosper Portland expanded this program district-wide in August.

Lloyd-Holladay Relocation Grant — Official Program Application.

⚠️ THE IMPORTANT PART: YOUR ADDRESS MATTERS.

You could qualify at one Portland address and not qualify at another.

So if you’re looking at a storefront, salon, studio, office or other commercial location, research the funding attached to the address BEFORE signing the lease. Because signing first and discovering later that another location could’ve opened the door to $25K, $75K or potentially more in assistance would make me sick. 😂

Save this or send it to a Portland business owner who needs commercial space. I did all of the hunting and finding links for you. All you have to do now is take action, or hire me to do it for you. 😂🥰🔥

One of the easiest ways to waste HOURS looking for opportunities is searching with one giant word like “scholarships” or “grants” and then wondering why the internet hands you 9,000 things that do not fit. 😂

The person should be your search strategy.

For students, I want to know grade, interests, activities, location, career direction, talents, identity based eligibility when that might be relevant, and what they are actually trying to do next.

For businesses, I want to know what the business does, where it operates, what stage it is in, what the money is for, and whether the basic documents and numbers exist yet. Good research for me gets much narrower before it gets bigger. If you got too many results, your search may have been TOO broad. Abroad search has a very good chance of producing results that waste your time.

What are you currently trying to find right now? Is it money, an opportunity, a program, a resource, a client, something else? Drop it here. I’m curious what everybody is hunting for that may or may not be producing the results you need.

If you have a teenager, especially a 9th, 10th or 11th grader, please stop treating senior year like that is when scholarship season starts. 😭

Some opportunities are grade level specific. That means something your kid can apply for RIGHT NOW may literally not be available to them once they become a senior.

And scholarships are only one lane. Depending on who the student is, there may be competitions, fellowships, summer programs, creative opportunities, awards, leadership programs, study abroad opportunities and other things they qualify for before anybody starts panic Googling “college scholarships” senior year.

Build the list, track deadlines, save requirements now, start collecting documents now! I would much rather see a student with 15 opportunities that actually fit them than 400 random links nobody has time to sort through.

If you have a student in your life, tell me their grade + what they are actually into. Performing arts? STEM? Culinary? Entrepreneurship? Sports? Something completely different? I want to see how different everybody’s kids are and what opportunities I should spend more time finding.

One thing I keep noticing with small businesses is how much work we accidentally make customers do before they can even give us money. 😂

If somebody lands on your page, can they tell what you do, who it is for, what they are actually getting and what happens after they pay you?

Because if I have to investigate your business like I’m solving a cold case before I can figure out how to buy something, we already have a problem. 😭

And I’ve been looking at my own businesses through this lens too. Not just asking whether everything looks pretty, but whether the actual path makes sense from finding me to understanding the offer to purchasing it to knowing what happens next.

Clarity is not boring. It removes friction.

The easier you make it for the right customer to understand what you do, the easier you make it for them to choose you.

First of the month, so yes, the cinnamon is getting blown. 😂

I’m calling in abundance, protection, better opportunities, more money, clearer decisions and movement in the right direction. But I’m also not about to ask for all of that and then sit around waiting for the universe to do my paperwork.

So after the ritual comes the real part. Follow up. Apply. Finish what needs finishing. Send the email. Fix the system. Make the decision. Move when the opportunity shows up.

That balance is a big part of how I operate anyway. I believe in intention, but I also believe in doing the work that gives the intention somewhere to land.

Do the spiritual work. Then back it with action. 🖤✨

NEW SERVICE: Student Opportunity Research 🎓

This one happened because I started doing the work for my own daughter.

While researching scholarships and opportunities around her creative background, college plans and goal of studying abroad after high school, I realized there is an entire world of funding and programs families can miss long before senior year.

So I built the same kind of research process I use professionally for businesses into a new Mirrored Consulting service for students and families.

Student Opportunity Research may include:

• Scholarships, grants & fellowships

• Competitions & awards

• Creative and academic opportunities

• HBCU tours & college-access programs

• Study-abroad and international education opportunities

• Eligibility and deadline verification

• Direct official links

• Requirements and recommended next steps

The research is customized around the actual student, not pulled from a generic scholarship list.

And because some opportunities are grade-specific, 9th–11th grade is absolutely not “too early” to start looking.

Student Opportunity Research Package is now available through Mirrored Consulting:

You can spend 6 hours looking for grants and still not know whether your business is actually ready to apply for one. That’s really the important part.

The Grant Readiness Snapshot gives you a quick diagnostic look at where your business is strong, where the gaps are, and what needs attention before you start throwing applications at the internet trying to see if anything sticks.

You complete it. You get clarity. You keep moving.

No consultation with me, no six week program.

Welcome to The Overthinker’s Guide to Moving to Thailand 😂🇹🇭

Apparently moving abroad gave my brain an entirely new category of emergencies to prepare for… including several I have absolutely no intention of participating in.

So Volume 01 started with a very simple question:

What actually happens if I get pregnant in Thailand?

Before pregnancy even enters the chat, birth control and emergency contraception are available through pharmacies here.

If pregnancy does happen, Thailand also has legal abortion pathways. Current guidance allows abortion up to 12 weeks without requiring a reason, while pregnancies beyond 12 weeks through 20 weeks involve counseling before the procedure. Some later circumstances may also qualify under specific legal or medical grounds.

Foreigners can access reproductive healthcare here too, but provider availability, costs, insurance coverage and individual circumstances can vary.

The point of this series is NOT “believe whatever Lotto said in a Reel seven months from now and start arguing with immigration.” 😂

The point is:

Know what questions to ask.

Know where to verify the answer.

And don’t wait until you’re in the emergency to start researching it.

I’m doing the deep research so you know where to START. You still need to verify what applies to your specific situation at the time you need it.

This research is a starting point only not personalized medical or legal advice. Thai laws, medical policies, provider requirements and costs can change. Always verify current information with the appropriate Thai authority or qualified healthcare provider before acting.

What’s the next “I’m moving to Thailand and now I’m overthinking everything” question you want me to research? 😂🇹🇭
