3 things I wish I knew before my first trade

Most beginners blow their first account for the same 3 reasons. I did too. Here's what actually matters:

1. Risk management > strategy

Everyone obsesses over finding the "perfect setup." But even a mediocre strategy with strict risk management will outperform a great strategy with none. Rule of thumb: never risk more than 1-2% of your account on a single trade. Period.

2. You don't need to trade every day

The best traders I know sit on their hands more than they trade. No setup = no trade. Sounds obvious, but most beginners overtrade out of boredom or FOMO. The market will be there tomorrow.

3. Paper trade until it's boring

If you're not consistently profitable on paper, real money won't fix that. Paper trading isn't "fake" — it's training. Would you fly a plane without a simulator first?

The market doesn't care about your feelings. It rewards patience, discipline, and preparation. Start there.
