The 3 things I wish I knew before learning digital marketing

I wasted months trying to "learn marketing" by watching random YouTube videos and reading blog posts. Here's what actually moved the needle:

1. Pick ONE channel first. Everyone says "be everywhere." That's advice for teams with budgets. If you're starting solo, master one platform before touching another. For most beginners, that's either Instagram Reels or Google Ads — depending on whether you're building a brand or driving direct sales.

2. Copy structure, not content. Find 5 accounts in your niche doing well. Don't copy their posts. Study their structure — how they hook, what format they use, how they convert attention to action. Then apply that framework to your own message.

3. Sell before you're "ready." The biggest trap is thinking you need a perfect funnel, a logo, and 10K followers before making your first dollar. I landed my first freelance client with a DM and a Google Doc proposal. Start ugly, refine later.

If this resonates, I'm building Marketers Hub — a community and course library for people who want to learn marketing from scratch and actually start earning. No fluff, just actionable strategies.
