The 3-Container System: How I Meal Prep a Full Week in 45 Minutes

Most people overcomplicate meal prep. They plan 7 different meals, buy 30 ingredients, and burn out by Wednesday.

Here's the system I use — and what I teach inside MealBoard:

Container 1: Protein Base

Pick ONE protein. Chicken thighs, ground turkey, or salmon. Season it simply. Cook it all at once. 15 minutes of active work.

Container 2: Grain/Carb

Rice, quinoa, or sweet potatoes. Set it and forget it. 5 minutes of active work.

Container 3: Vegetables

Roast a sheet pan of whatever's in season. Broccoli, bell peppers, zucchini. 10 minutes of active work.

That's it. Mix and match through the week. Add different sauces and seasonings to keep it interesting. Monday it's teriyaki chicken with rice. Wednesday it's the same chicken over a grain bowl with tahini.

The secret: consistency beats variety. You don't need 7 unique meals. You need 3 solid containers and 4-5 sauces.

Total cost: ~$35-40 for 5 days of lunches and dinners. That's less than two DoorDash orders.

Inside MealBoard, I share new 3-container combos every week with full grocery lists, macro breakdowns, and step-by-step timing guides. If you're tired of the "what should I eat" spiral, this is your answer.
