Why every designer needs one mirrored accent piece
I've staged over 50 rooms this year and the single most impactful change I keep making? Adding one mirrored accessory with a gold frame.
Not a mirror on the wall — that's expected. I mean a small, unexpected mirrored piece on a vanity, nightstand, or coffee table.
Here's why it works:
It doubles the light. A mirrored tissue holder or tray catches ambient light and bounces it around the room. In darker spaces, it's a cheat code.
It adds texture without clutter. Gold-framed glass reads as elegant but takes up almost no visual weight.
Clients always notice. I've had clients pick up a mirrored box and say "where is this from?" more than any other single piece in the room.
The trick is restraint — one piece per surface, max. Let it breathe.
We just dropped our first collection. If you're a designer or stager who gets it, come take a look.
