Don't just pick the cheapest quote. The lowest price usually means the longest wait, the least communication, and zero accountability if something goes sideways. Ask about insurance, timelines, and what happens if there's a delay.

Get your vehicle ready. Remove personal items, document any existing damage with photos, and make sure it starts/runs (or tell your transporter upfront if it doesn't). This saves everyone headaches.

Know the difference between open and enclosed transport. Open is cheaper and works great for daily drivers. Enclosed is worth it for classic cars, high-end vehicles, or bikes you don't want exposed to the elements.

Book early. Especially for seasonal routes — snowbirds heading south in October or boat owners moving for summer. Carriers fill up fast.
