Why 90% of meal preppers quit by week 3 (and how we fixed it)
Ran the numbers on our own churn data building Second Bite Meals, and it wasn't taste that killed retention — it was sameness. People order meal prep excited, then by week 3 they're staring at the same 5 dishes on rotation and cancel.
The fix wasn't more recipes. It was smaller batches of more variety. Instead of 1 menu repeating every week, we run a rotating weekly menu so no two boxes look the same for a full month.
If you're building any kind of recurring product (not just food) — subscription boxes, coaching, content — the lesson holds: the thing that gets someone to buy once is never the thing that gets them to stay. Novelty + consistency of quality is the actual retention lever.
Curious what others building recurring Whop products have done to fight the week-3 drop-off.
