The 3 spreadsheets every freelancer needs (and most don't have)
Most freelancers are running their business blind. No budget, no projections, no idea where the money actually goes.
Here are the 3 spreadsheets that changed everything for me:
1. Monthly Cash Flow Tracker
Not a P&L — a real-time view of money in vs money out. Broken down by client, recurring expenses, and one-off costs. Takes 10 minutes to set up and saves you from that "where did all my money go" panic every month.
2. Project Pricing Calculator
Stop guessing your rates. This template factors in your hourly cost, overhead, profit margin, and scope. Plug in the numbers and it tells you what to charge. No more underpricing yourself because "that seems about right."
3. Tax Set-Aside Sheet
The simplest one but the one that saves you the most stress. Every time you get paid, it tells you exactly how much to move to your tax account based on your bracket. No surprises in April.
These three documents took me from "I think I'm profitable" to actually knowing my numbers.
I build these kinds of templates for freelancers and solopreneurs inside MoneyMap Pro — if you want access to the full library, come check it out.
