Why skinny guys can't gain weight (it's not what you think)

Every hardgainer I've talked to says the same thing: "I eat so much but nothing works."

Here's what's actually happening:

You're not eating as much as you think. Track one normal day honestly. Most "big eaters" are hitting 1,800-2,200 calories. That's maintenance for a 150lb guy, not growth fuel.

Your training is backwards. If you're doing 15+ sets per muscle group with light weights and "feeling the burn," you're optimizing for fatigue, not growth. Hardgainers need heavy compound movements in the 6-10 rep range with progressive overload every single week.

You're doing too much cardio. That 30-min treadmill warmup is burning the surplus you need to grow. Cut it to 5 minutes. Your heart will be fine.

You're not sleeping enough. Muscle grows during recovery. If you're getting 5-6 hours, you're sabotaging every rep you did that day.

The real formula is simple: eat in a calculated surplus, train with intensity on the right movements, sleep 7-8 hours, and be consistent for 12 weeks straight.

That's what I built the Myogenic Protocol around. No bro-science. No "eat everything in sight." Just a system that works for guys who've been told they have "bad genetics."

Your genetics aren't the problem. Your approach is.
