The email flows most Shopify stores are missing, in order of impact
I've spent the last few years building Klaviyo programs for ecommerce brands, and the same six gaps show up almost everywhere. If you run a Shopify store and haven't built these yet, here's the order I'd do it in.
Abandoned checkout. Three emails, spaced over 24 to 48 hours. This alone recovers 5 to 15% of abandoned carts, and most stores either don't have it or haven't touched it in a year.
Welcome series. The first 7 days after signup are the highest-intent window a subscriber will ever give you. One generic discount email wastes it.
Post-purchase. The sale closes and most brands stop talking to the customer. A short flow here, thank you, usage tips, review request, is where repeat buyers get made.
Win-back. Acquiring a customer costs 5 to 7x more than keeping one. A win-back sequence with the right timing and offer typically re-activates 10 to 20% of buyers who've gone quiet.
Browse abandonment. Lower intent than cart abandonment, but worth automating once the first four are live.
Replenishment, if you sell consumables. Time the reminder to when the product actually runs out, not a guess.
Build them in that order. The first two alone usually justify the rest.
