The 3 things nobody tells you before buying pet furniture
I've spent the last few months sourcing pet furniture and testing it in my own place, and here's what I wish someone told me before I bought my first "designer" dog bed:
1. Raised feeders aren't just about looks. They're actually recommended by vets for medium/large breeds to reduce strain on the neck and improve digestion. If your feeder is purely decorative and flat, you're missing the actual benefit.
2. "Chew-proof" is mostly marketing. Almost nothing is fully chew-proof for a determined dog. What matters more is whether the material is non-toxic and easy to replace/clean — that's a better filter than the word "indestructible" on the listing.
3. Match materials, not just colors. Most pet furniture fails to blend into a home because people match the color of their decor but not the material (e.g. putting a glossy plastic bowl stand next to matte wood furniture). Matching finish (matte wood, woven textures, neutral fabric) makes a bigger visual difference than matching hex codes.
