Your Super Bowl ad is losing to a 12-second comment.
Most brands still treat social like matching luggage for the "real" campaign.
That's why they keep losing.
The format eating attention right now isn't a 30-second film. It's comments-as-creative: a founder reply, a customer roasting you, a creator stitching your product into a joke that already has distribution. The algorithm rewards that. Your audience already lives there. Your media plan probably doesn't.
Three things we tell every new client in week one:
1. Stop optimizing for reach.
Reach is cheap and mostly fake. Optimize for attention you can prove — watch time, saves, replies, and the sales that follow.
2. Platform first, brand second.
A TikTok that looks like a TikTok outperforms a "brand film cut down for TikTok" every time. Native isn't a style. It's the price of entry.
3. Creators aren't a line item. They're the media.
The people defining culture are not in your brand workshop. Pay them like media, brief them like partners, and let them talk like humans.
If your last quarter of social didn't move a business number you can name, the problem isn't "we need more content." It's that social is still sitting at the edge of the org instead of the center.
That's the whole agency.
