The 3 mistakes killing most influencer social media accounts
I've managed social media for dozens of personal brands and influencers. Same mistakes every time.
1. Posting without a content pillar strategy
If you're posting random content hoping something sticks, you're wasting your time. Every post should map to 1 of 3-4 core themes your audience cares about. Variety within structure — that's the formula.
2. Ignoring your first 30 minutes
The algorithm decides your post's fate in the first 30 min. If you're posting and walking away, you're leaving reach on the table. Engage with comments immediately, reply to DMs, and be active on the platform right after posting.
3. Chasing followers instead of engagement rate
Brands don't care about follower count anymore. They care about engagement rate, saves, and shares. An account with 10K followers and 8% engagement is worth more than 100K with 0.5%.
Focus on these three things and watch your growth change.
