Why most 'organic content strategies' fail before they even start
I've spent the last while building funnels, email flows, and content systems for brands — and the #1 mistake I see isn't bad copy or bad creative. It's sequencing.
Most people post content first and figure out the funnel later. Backwards. Here's the order that actually works:
Offer clarity first. If you can't explain what you sell in one sentence, no amount of content will save you. Nail this before touching a content calendar.
Email list before audience size. A list of 200 engaged emails converts better than 20k passive followers. Set up your capture + welcome sequence before you scale posting.
One content pillar, not five. Pick the single format/topic that gets the most replies in your first 2 weeks, then double down. Stop spreading thin across every platform.
Funnel > feed. Every piece of organic content should point somewhere — a lead magnet, a waitlist, a DM flow. Content without a destination is just noise.
I'm building this out hands-on for a few brands right now (funnels, email, copy, creative, content strategy — no paid ads, no SEO). If you're stuck on the ordering above, happy to swap notes.
