3 things I wish I knew before day trading options

I've been trading options and futures for years, and I see the same mistakes over and over from newer traders. Here's what would've saved me a lot of money early on:

1. Position sizing > entry timing

Everyone obsesses over the perfect entry. But I've seen traders nail entries and still blow up because they went too heavy. Risk 1-2% per trade max. It's not sexy, but it keeps you in the game long enough to actually get good.

2. The first 30 minutes are a trap

Opening bell volatility looks like opportunity. Most of the time it's just noise. I wait for the dust to settle, look for a clear setup, and enter with conviction. Patience literally pays.

3. Have a plan before the market opens

If you're waking up and trying to figure out what to trade at 9:30, you're already behind. I map out key levels, potential setups, and my max risk the night before. When the bell rings, I'm just executing.

Trading is a skill. Treat it like one and the results follow.
