The 4 documents that stop freelance projects from going sideways
Most freelance messes are not talent problems. They are missing paperwork.
Before you start work, send these four:
Onboarding questionnaire. Goals, decision-makers, deadlines, brand assets, what "done" looks like. If they skip it, you are guessing.
Proposal with a tight scope. What is included, what is not, how many rounds, when invoices go out.
A simple contract. Payment schedule, revision limits, who owns the files, what happens if they go quiet.
A delivery checklist. Final files, logins, usage rights, and what support looks like after handoff.
Clients do not push back on this as much as people think. They just want to know you have a process.
If you keep rewriting these from scratch every time, you are paying a tax on every new client.
