Why most tradesmen overpay for gear that doesn't last

I spent a decade watching guys on job sites replace the same $15 gloves every two weeks and buy "work pants" from fast-fashion brands that rip at the knee by week three.

The dropshipping model gets a bad rap because most people use it to push cheap junk with a markup. That's not what we're doing at Outland Supply Co.

Our approach: source from manufacturers who actually make gear for trade use — reinforced stitching, duck-cloth, drop-forged steel — and cut out the retail markup middlemen slap on top. You get contractor-grade gear at a price that makes sense, without the brand tax.

Two bundles live right now:

  • A 3-piece workwear bundle (jacket, pants, gloves) built for job-site abuse

  • A pro-grade tool kit with drop-forged hand tools and a ratchet set

If you've ever bought a tool that snapped on the first real job, you know why we started this. Happy to answer questions about sourcing, sizing, or durability in the comments.
