The reason most Shopify sales pages underperform isn't the offer — it's the order
I've teared down a lot of Shopify product/sales pages, and the pattern is almost always the same: the offer is fine, the product is fine, but the page structure is fighting the buyer instead of guiding them.
Here's the sequence that actually works, in order:
Headline that names the problem, not the product. "Get glowing skin in 2 weeks" beats "Vitamin C Serum 30ml" every time. Buyers scan for relevance before they scan for features.
Problem before offer. Most pages jump straight to "buy now" bullets. Spend 2-3 lines making the visitor feel understood first — it's the difference between a page that sells and a page that just lists.
Proof placed BEFORE the CTA, not after. If your testimonials or before/afters are below the buy button, they're doing zero work. Buyers decide before they scroll past the button.
One order bump, max. Not three upsells stacked on the same page. One relevant bump at checkout converts; five options creates decision fatigue and people abandon.
The thank-you page is a missed upsell 90% of the time. It's the highest-intent moment on your whole funnel and most stores just show a confirmation number.
None of this requires a redesign — it's usually a reorder of sections you already have. If you're auditing your own pages, run this sequence check first before touching copy or design.
Curious what others have found — anyone tested moving proof above the fold and seen a real shift?
