Payday is not a bonus. Here is the 4-line math gig workers skip.

If you drive, dash, or clock in weekly, you already know the pattern: Friday feels rich. Tuesday you are floating a $6 coffee on a card you should not be using.

Most “budgets” fail because they ask you to become a different person. You do not need categories. You need one number: what is safe to spend before the next check.

Four lines. Do it on your phone notes after every deposit.

  1. Next payday date

  2. Bills that hit before then

  3. Money already gone since this payday

  4. Remainder ÷ days left = daily ceiling

That last line is the only one that matters. If it is $11, you do not have a $40 takeout night. If it is $0, you have a bill problem, not a willpower problem.

The people who stay broke are not the ones who earn the least. They are the ones who spend the first 72 hours like the next check is already in the account.

I built PaycheckControl to spit that number out so you stop doing the math in your head at a drive-through.
