Why I stopped selling "website packages" and started quoting every project individually
For a long time I sold websites the way most agencies do — Basic, Standard, Premium. Pick a tier, get a template of features.
The problem: no two projects actually fit into those boxes. A simple 5-page brochure site and a site with custom booking, a member portal, and integrations are wildly different amounts of work — but a tiered menu forces them into the same buckets. Clients either overpaid for stuff they didn't need, or underpaid and I ate the extra scope.
So I dropped the packages entirely. Now every project gets its own quote, based on exactly what it needs:
Tell us your project in Client Chat
We scope the real work and send a custom invoice
You pay for exactly what you're getting — nothing bundled, nothing missing
It's more work on my end to price every project individually, but it's the only way to be fair to both sides. If you've got a website project in mind, drop into the chat and let's talk scope.
