Why most small business sales pages fail (and it's not the design)

Ran a copywriting agency for a while now, and the pattern is always the same: business owners blame their sales page's design when it's not converting, but 9 times out of 10 the actual problem is the copy.

Three things I see over and over:

  1. Leading with features, not the transformation. Nobody cares that your course has '12 modules.' They care that they'll stop losing clients to competitors. Sell the after-state, not the checklist.

  1. No specific customer in mind. If your copy could apply to any business in any industry, it convinces nobody. Write like you're talking to one person with one specific problem.

  1. Burying the offer. People skim. If they can't find the price and what they get within 10 seconds of hitting your CTA section, you've lost them.

If you're a small business owner or agency and your sales page, emails, or ads aren't converting — it's usually fixable in a rewrite, not a redesign. Happy to break down what's wrong with yours if you drop it in the comments.
